Give your WORKOUT a KICK with Essential Oils!

How do I incorporate using essential oils with my workouts?  It is important to prepare your body for the workout it is about to get and essential oils can be an important part of that.  During a workout you need energy, and stamina and focus.  There are many oils that can help out with all of these, but these are the oils and blends of my choice.








As soon as I get to the gym, I spend sometime in the locker room, "oiling" up.



RESPIRE: This blend was formulated to help with any respiratory issues such as congestion, excessive mucus or blocked airways.  It is also great to help with your breathing while on the cardio machines. It contains Peppermint, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus.

I rub this on my neck, and chest to help clear the airways, then I also run a little under the nose.



 
AMEND- is a blend of corsican helichrysum, blue chamomile, blue tansy, roman chamomile, carrot seed, and French lavender.  This is a great oil to soothe skin inflammation, sore joints, muscles, psoriasis, and eczema.  Amend is sure to sooth immediately once rubbed gently into the area of discomfort.

Since my recent knee surgery last year, I like to put this on any joints that might be a little stiff.  This really helps loosen up the muscles before my stretching.  Just a few drops is all you need!




 Finally, a homemade blend that I learned about from a wonderful blogger, Camp Wander .

FOCUS- 4 drops of Peppermint and 4 drops of Wild Orange in a 5ml glass roller bottle fill the rest of the way with Fractionated Coconut Oil. 
Peppermint: It stimulates the mind and increases mental accuracy.
Wild Orange: Wild Orange is used in aromatherapy to invite and create feelings that are calming and happy. 
Not only will the Focus blend help you focus on your work out, but because of the Peppermint, causes a cooling affect that will keep you cool during your workout! 


After you "oil" up, make sure you stretch your muscles to get them warmed up before getting on any machines.  Trust me, your body will thank you for it. 
 
So don't dread going to the gym because you don't have the energy or the stamina, break out the oils to help give you all that you need for that great workout!
